Agent utility skills
Agent utility skills
February 18, 2026
I’m getting a lot of value out of building and using agent skills in my daily workflow. While most of these are very specific to my role and the domain in which I work, there are some that are more general purpose. I’ve published those on github.
- Obsidian CLI directs your agent to use the newly released vault cli, rather than existing command line tools like
lsandgrep. - Markdown Publisher I mostly use to ensure that LaTeX formulae in markdown files are converted to a format I can import into Google Docs.
Because I created these for my personal use, there will be some assumptions, requirements and specific paths and structures in the skill body and accompanying scripts that you will need to edit to make it your own:
- I use these within an Obsidian Vault. My vault is structured using PARA, expect to see some references to that in the Obsidian skill text, and also in the conversion script.
- I assume that Pandoc is installed.
- I assume that you have (at the time of writing this) a Catalyst license for Obsidian, and that you have the Obdidian CLI installed.
